HP 2605dn driver

I had trouble installing a Windows 7 64-bit driver for my HP 2605dn printer, and couldn't easily find a solution googling it. Here is what I finally did to get it working.

After selecting add a new printer, then selecting the 2605dn, I didn't see this model in the HP printer list. But if I clicked the Windows update button then it showed up and installed fine.

However, to get duplex printing to work I had to right click the printer and select Printer Properties, then Device settings and installable options, then select duplex unit installed.

Do like the first post says....a Windows update and it'll show you the printer.

I did like the first post said, PerogyBoy, and the windows update didn't work Then a link was listed for Driver Update and I feel it should have been stated that this is not HP software and has to be purchased. If stated up front I would not have clicked on the link. I feel I was misled. I'm sure it's good software or it would not have been promoted here. My Add a Printer Windows Update is still running in the time it took me to follow the software link, cancel the purchase screen and register here then find the page again. I still need help

What exactly is your problem, or question?

Is your 2605dn attached via USB?

The Universal Printer Driver for the 2605dn is on the HP site, available for download. Just run it and the whole process will run to completion.

FYI Windows Update

I tried to use Windows update when the printer was connected via the network and it does not work.

Windows Update only works with the USB connection.
