HP BIOS recovery? No BSOD, computer wont restart.

I honestly have no clue what to do..

long story short:
I purchased a new soundcard for music production and was having some latency issues
I watch this video (youtube.com/watch?v=97ITLhLigso @1:30) which gives me the idea to update my BIOS
I visit HP (Updating the BIOS (HP and Compaq Desktop PCs and Workstations) HP Pavilion Elite HPE-140f Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)), and start to update my BIOS
the update starts
my computer shuts off and is not able to restart


the only signs coming from the computer are a loud humming and the power button is blue
please help, i fear that i might have killed my computer

Hi corndog45 welcome to SF
Well first lets try that,
Turned off the computer,unplug the power cord,open the case,touch case metal surface to earth ur self,then carefully remove that little ''coin'' battery.
Wait for 15-30 minutes to ensure everything is reset.
Put back the ''coin'' battery,close the case,connect the power cord,turn on the computer.
See if that works for you and post back for further steps.

hello, thank you for the welcome!

i have never been inside this computer before, but i gave it a try
the coin was hard to get out but after 30 minutes it seems like nothing happened

something i did try was putting the factory settings bios motherboard driver on a usb flashdrive and my computer started to beep but thats all

the bios motherboard driver from hp (MS-7613 Motherboard BIOS Update HP Pavilion Elite HPE-140f Desktop PC - HP Customer Care (United States - English)) is an exe file and i dont know the first thing about opening that file ext. on my only other computer (mac)
i think there may be a file of some kind (ROM/BOOT?) in there I should place directly on the usb flash drive

here is a similar story about someone getting something like this to work but i honestly don't have the knowledge or experience with computers to figure it out

it seems like i need a file from the exe (the bios driver)
but i dont know how to find the specific file on a mac
i think anyway..

A good and safe way to update bios is with usb flash drive.
But i dont know if that it can work for you.

Download the CORRECT bios update for you.
Connect a flash drive in a usb port in ur computer.
Format the flash drive.
Extract the bios files in the flash drive.
Reboot your computer with the flash drive still inserted. Boot from the flash drive. If it doesn't boot from the drive automatically, press "F12" during the boot process for boot options. Choose "USB Drive." Allow the BIOS update to run or manual run it. Your computer will reboot once the process is complete.

i watched a video on youtube and instead of putting the whole exe file on there they just suggest putting the ROM on it
but idont know how to find the rom file

i have a feeling we are getting close to a solution though!

Did you tried the above?
You can also try the jumper reset.(Be careful with that and always earth ur self before touching anything)
