Hello everyone!!!

Question: Is it enabled in the BIOS? What does it say in Device Manager? Is the wifi device shown as working OK, or is there an alert showing?

Cheers!
Robert

OK ... Anti Virus and Firewalls can block access, as can POPup and add blockers.

Have you tried to create a new network connection?

Is the Security configured exactly like the security of the laptop that is working?

You can try to remove all network settings and reboot ...

Cheers!

Well ... I am not there and you are ... but if the laptop can see available networks ... I would think it is working ... enabled ... just not connected.

Have you tried disabling the device in Device manager, reboot, then enable the device in device manager and reboot again?

Cheers!

Can you temporarily set wifi router security to "None", Open, or whatever to see if you can connect then?

Solution: reset BIOS to default settings

I've been unable to turn the wi fi radio of my HP 6910p laptop back on for a while, since the only switch that can manage it is in the faulty Quick Launch panel; there are no controls at the operating system level and any utility you can install (like the HP Wireless Assistant) won't be of any help because they only tell you that the wireless adapter is off (same for the bluetooth) but the options to enable it are greyed out.
After trying removing the battery and power cable several times with no success, I just reset the BIOS to its default settings making the wireless radio go back on with the touch panel blue light remaining on as well.
Though the Quick Launch panel still doesn't work (it's a HP design flaw seriously affecting this model) the wi fi problem is now solved! :)
