HP DV6 Display issue

Hello everyone,

I own an HP DV6-1161TX(2009) model. Today morning when i switched on my laptop, my display is messed up. kindly check the attachment.

Need some opinion on what could be the issue and how to resolve this.

Does this happen after you start the laptop or only inside Windows?

Try loading defaults in BIOS (Setup menu when you start the PC).

Download and make bootable DVD/USB for Linux Mint MATE and boot with it (no installation needed) and see if it is alright.

It happens right from where the laptop boots up. i.e not exclusive to windows.

Then best is to take it to a repair shop or RMA if it is still under warranty. Hopefully the ribbon for display has broken or got loose and easy to fix.
