Hey Guys

Just purchased said notebooks, and planning to install build 7100 ASAP, but i need to know if some drivers work. i installed in a virtual machine, and tried some of the drivers, twice it wouldnt let me install, and then it allowed installation, said it was complete, but blue screened on restart, unable to repair, and no sys rest option. TBH i cant be assed going through that process for every driver i try, so was wondering if anyone knows which drivers will work.

i would like very much for the touhpad driver for the scroll bar, and the fn buttons to work. also would like to know if quick play works. i have copied some of the drivers in the C:\SWSetup folder. i also e-mailed HP Support, and Guess what! yep! they were of no help what so ever.

i have been running 7 since build 6801 on my main desktop, and it was a shock to the system to go back to Vista with this notebook. i have the recovery discs if things dont work out, and can revert back, but dont want to install 7 if i am going to have to go straight back to Vista, it will seem like a lifetime installing compared to 7.

any help at all would be really appreciated.

Oops just realised i posted this in general discussion. this is what happens when you have 2 tabs open at the same time. please feel free to relocate to the correct forum Admin. thanks

A virtual machine won't expose your hardware to the guest OS.
If the hardware works on vista, chances are they'll work with W7.
