Hi all,

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I am trying to install an HP Color LJ 2600n via USB on a Windows 7 Enterprise 32 bit machine. I have downloaded the latest drivers from HP and installed them on the PC. The printer connects to the PC and builds the Printer in the Device window, but no print jobs will print. The print job will skirt through the queue without a second thought, but no paper emerges.

I looked at HP's site here, and they claim that I should have two device entries in my Device Manager: one for the printer and one for the USB Printing Support. I have the one for the printer support, but not for the device. What exactly would I be doing wrong that the second entry is not showing up?

Hi Brian, welcome to the forums
I can't tell you how many hairs I pulled trying to install HP printers via USB. A common mistake I did more than once: make sure the printer is not connected via the USB when you install the drives, plug it only when asked.
I would start over, uninstall everything and install again.
Let us know...

To update this...

We had to go into the Registry, delete the driver entries from the Registry manually, and then the drivers cooperated.

Wally, thanks for trying to help previously, and my apologies that this was not updated sooner.
