I have an HP DC7700u pc with a 1.86ghz core 2 duo processor and 4 Gb Ram (32 Bit). My monitor is an Hp Monitor as well. When I first plugged in the monitor and turned on the computer, the display looked a little "low quality" and the device manager showed "generic pnp monior". After a few days of using the computer and installing updates, the display suddenly looked really nice and the device manager showed the actual model number of the monitor. Now after about of month of use, the display is suddenly "low quality" again and the device manager is once again saying "generic pnp device". I tried updating the drivers and that didn't work. Looked on the Hp website as well as Microsoft site and both say the monitor is plug-n-play and no software is needed. Where do I go from here to make this work permanently?
