Hello,
I have a HP Pavilion DM3 3012 laptop that came with Win 7 on a traditional 7200rpm drive. The hard drive crashed and was going to install a fresh new copy of Win 7 onto a SSD.

I have tried to do a clean install from a Win 7 64bit iso on USB stick and DVD Rom. I can get it to boot from the stick or DVD drive and then gets to the Loading Windows but never gets into the installation menu to select what version of Win 7 I want to install.

I checked my BIOS for this laptop and there are no selections for UEFI or Legacy in the Bios settings. I can't figure out why my Windows 7 recovery media won't install.

I also found my 5 recovery dvds i made when I first got the computer and it doesn't work as well to get to the installation menu.

Any suggestions with what is going on?

Have a look at this tutorial,

Especially the bit about prepairing your SSD.
