Hello everyone,

Up till a few hours ago I have had no problems with my integrated microphone and today I can't seem to figure out why it is not working. I have tried various things such as making sure it is the default device etc.

So I come here for your help. This is currently what it looks like when I am in the sound window.

The green bar to the right doesn't detect any noise or voices.
Can someone help me go through all the things I should check?

Regards

As this has worked OK and now does not, a System Restore may fix it. Restore the PC back to an available restore date when it did work.

I'm sorry :S I'm not too great with computers. How can I system restore it? And if so, will I lose all my documents and stuff?

System Restore will not delete any user data or e-mails. It just rolls back to a previous time.

System Restore can be accessed from Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools.

Okay, I tried system restart and it done it successfully. Although, it doesn't seem to be working so I guess I will assume that it is broken :S and I really hope it isn't

Try an uninstall/reinstall of the sound. Go to the Device Manager. RIGHT click to highlight the entry for the IDT Soud. Then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT check the box to also uninstall the drivers. Then restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the sound. If there was a corruption in Windows for the sound, this will fix it.

To access the Device Manager, Click Start then RIGHT click "Computer". LEFT click on Properties. Device Manager will listed on the upper left.
