Hello y2matt.

The Windows Update driver enables most audio features and is the most stable.

However, in most cases it lacks of built-in microphone support. I would suggest to download the Vista driver (High Definition or AC97 , depending on your audio card ) from Realtek

Solution to My dv6000 Problem

I have a dv6000 AMD Turion X2 2GB Ram, NVIDIA Graphics. Windows 7 Ultimate N.

My resolution was only giving me to options of 800 x 600 and 1028 x 760 after I Installed Windows 7, after all attempts failed and I couldn't get my blurry resolution issue solved
I downloaded the Windows Vista NViDia Graphics Driver for the dv6045nr

and restarted the computer and vwaala...it worked, still not as good as my newer laptop with the AERO features but still a crystal clear display.
