I have a HP psc 1200 and I have removed the device, unplugged it from the computer, and unplugged the power to the printer and I have the devices and printers window refresh and it keeps bringing up the printer I just removed as being off line, I have removed the printer shut down the computer waited for awhle, then restarted it and go back into devices and printers and the printer is showing back up there even tho its not plugged in. How do I get it to stop finding it so when I do plug it back in again it will say found new hardware and reinstall the drivers and Win7 shipped with.

Thank you for your help

You should be able to go into Device Manager and delete the drivers...

Start > Right Click Computer > Device Manager > Find your printer > Right Click > Properties > Uninstall Drivers

Otherwise:
1.

Open Printers by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking Hardware and Sound, and then clicking Printers.
2.

Right-click the printer that you want to remove, and then click Delete.

If you can't delete the printer, right-click it again, click Run as administrator, and then click Delete. Administrator permission required If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

I would love it if it was that simple to go remove it from there, i have looked in there several times, and it is not showing up in device manager. I am not sure where the system is finding it. Seeing as the printer is unplugged from the computer and powered off, but some how Windows keeps thinking its there and off line.

Seems it's a Windows System file in driverstore or somewhere in sys32.

"A full feature software and driver package for Windows 7 is not available for your product. However, the Windows 7 operating system installed on your computer contains a basic driver solution for your product."

Windows protection ?

When I have the system delete or remove it from the list, I then refresh and it shows back up again. or if I reboot after removing it, then it shows back up after the reboot as being off line
