I'm trying to delete a folder off my desktop, and Ive been at it for about an hour now. I really like solving things on my own but this one has really got me. Okay, I'm the only user on this PC, and I made sure I have full control through the security settings. When that didn't work, I altered the UAC to never notify me. Finally when that failed, I found a a registry edit online that allows me to "Take ownership" by right clicking the file. I see DOS for a few seconds and "access denied" then it disappears. I also noticed that some of the files are read only which would explain why it wont let me delete them, but it wont let me alter any of the folder settings at all. The folder I'm trying to delete is a music folder with a bunch of sub folders as albums. I have no idea what caused this particular folder to start acting up, but I was messing with WMP as well as TVersity setting up a media server. ANY help at all will be appreciated!! thanks.

Download Unlocker:

Or LockHunter:

LockHunter

Either will tell you what is locking the folder. You can then use them to delete if you still want. They may require you to reboot to remove the folder. A Guy
