I am fearful of messing with the Registry, is there a simpler Fix?

I had asked for help to eliminate the Microsoft Nag regarding continued use of Edge under Windows-7.
A response came back months ago, however it required Registry manipulation.
Being the Novice and Coward that I am, I could never bring myself to attempt it.
I was wondering if there now might be a less technical solution to my dilemma!
If so, I would really like to be made aware of it.

Hi Mike....

You might start getting warning from some financial sites as well, so it might be wiser to use another browser
To remove Edge
Edge is installed via KB4567409 ....(classified as important)

from an elevated command run this, (copy/paste)

wusa /uninstall /kb:4567409

However if you still want to use it, run the .bat reg tool here

There is no reason at all to avoid touching the registry, as long as you know what you're doing, or are following reviewed instructions.

Just read the steps carefully and be cautious in what you change. There is no possible harm in simply looking at something.

And most important, contrary to what Microsoft want us to believe, bricking the computer by an error in the registry is not trivial, but really complicated and infrequent enough to not to worry about it. Save for a very few key entries, the vast majority of registry entries (and files in general) cannot cause a cathastropic system failure. If you actually break something, chances are it'll be a very specific thing or you missconfigure a program, maybe with an annoyance here and there, but nothing beyond that.

Just go ahead, read the instructions again and touch the registry. It's there for a reason.
