Hello I have been using my computer to connect my xbox 360 to the internet all has been well untill now. Just recently I started having some connection issues. so trying to resolve i removed my wifi adapter drivers and reinstalled them, I ran the troubleshoot part of windows network on the adapter and lan connections. somehow a new wifi connection appeared in my network and sharing center (mini port wifi) and now when i try to enable ICS it tells me that the ip address for automatic ip addressing is already assigned in a error message. and it will not allow me to share my internet connection. I have tried to bridge the connection to the local area connection and the computer acts as if it did it correctly but when i try to connect my xbox it will not work and on the xbox dashboard it does not show my connection being good to the network. I have even already replaced all wiring involved with this setup thinking it may be a bad ethernet cable to no resolve. this setup worked for months so i see no reason why it would not work now.

My Computer

OS
window 7 64bit
Ok i have concluded that this nothing to do with the xbox MY computer simply refuses to share its internet. When i enable the bridged connection the computer says it is bridged and i have wifi but no internet comes out of my ethernet port. my xbox wont connect and when i hook a wifi router to the ethernet it will not get internet threw the bridge.????? anyhow some help would be much apreciated .. This problem is with windows it will not share its internet

Bridging connections is not the same as ICS.

If you already have a router then you have absolutely no reason to use ICS.

The modem should plug into the router's WAN port then plug everything else into the router or use the wireless connection on the router.
