I cannot uninstall IE9 Beta

I should have done this ages ago, but I have buried my head in the sand for a while with this problem but I really need to sort it, so here goes...

I have Win 7, I installed IE9 beta but since it expired I cannot update to IE9. Also I cannot uninstall the beta.
If I try and uninstall, first it is not listed in programs.
It is also not in 'Installed Updates' in fact nothing is in here!

So I just cannot get rid of it?

According to this site where a user also had the same problem, using this command sfc scannow helped him to uninstall IE9 beta.

Link 1 - error message 'Operation failed'
Link 2 - It is not listed under installed updates (nothing is listed)
Link 3 - As link 2

I will have to try that when i have more time and am feeling a little braver.

It is also stopping me from installing service pack 1

hmmm, well I tried a re-install and that didnt work and then I could not install any windows updates at all.
So now I have done a clean install and all well apart from the onious task of getting everytjhing back to normal and re-installing everything

Might be wise to install a few at a time to check that there are no glitches.
Much easier to troubleshoot & identify problems then.
