I can't pin anything to taskbar

I can't pin anything to taskbar. Everything what I try to pin doesn't appear in the taskbar. What should I do?

I'm not sure what may be causing this, but a repair install should be able to fix it for you.

Please clarify what you mean by "everything".

EXAMPLE:
Pinning C:\Users\NAME to the taskbar would appear on the context menu of the pinned Explorer icon - not as an additional icon. It would be pinned, but might not appear as you expect it to.

LOL, no problem Antman. A repair install is normally a last resort though to try and avoid a clean reinstall.

after a search...I am having this same problem.

if I do a repair install would it mess with anything on my hard drive as far as music, programs etc? what if i have my c drive partitioned with said files on my partition drive would it delete my partition? i dont really wanna do a repair install but i cant pin anything to my taskbar anymore and its really annoying.

Hello Bob,

No, it will not delete these files. To be safe though, you should always backup anything that you do not want to lose in case something goes wrong.

Thanks Brink, sorry for the late response as I've been on vacation!

Where would one go to do this repair install clean and safely? Darned Gateway doesn't come with install discs so I may just have to give their tech support a ring. I believe I might be able to create them within the PC would I use those?

Bob,

Unfortunately, you will not be able to do a Repair install with a Gateway (OEM) factory restore disc/partition. You will only be able to do a factory restore instead.
