I can't remove old personal files present in my old XP.
I don't need them anymore and I can't delete them in any ways I can find.
I tried using FileShredders and ETC, Removing it using CMD forcefully, .. and the file is not in use.
It would be nice if someone would help me. :)
Thanks in Advance!

Hmmm,

That's strange. I recommend you use Microsoft Security Essentials and try running a Full Scan to check for any malware.

An alternative solution is to just use an Ubuntu Live CD, boot up from it and delete the files needed.

Nice to see fast replies.
Well, it doesn't matter what file i'm trying to delete. I have multiple files that have the same conflict. Its just files from my OLD xp pc's harddrive which i now still use. And zers no malwares, i've scanned it wiz MSE, and the files are just renamed for privacy purposes (removefile(2)) . So, any other idea that requires less time and effort, :D that would be very much appreciated..

:D

XenX, please tell us exactly what is the original file type? Is it a media video file, or an exe?

If this is a file from some app you were running in XP, and not a system file, I used to do a search, find the file and try deleting it. This worked more times than not. Could it be connected to a hidden file?

First, I'm using Win7
And I'm sure it technically doesn't matter whether what type it is, seriously.
I forgot the real file name (+extension), but there were even executable files.
They're program and personal files.

@theog - That isn't practical really. It doesn't make sense if when he wanted to just delete a regular file he would have to boot up the Recovery Console just to do so.
