Hi, i cant for the life of me solve the problem i am having with my wireless card. It stutters up my whole PC, and cuts my internet connection, frequently. Its a bother listening to music, playing games, browsing the internet.

I cant take it anymore!!! but my old card isnt compatible with windows 7, i tried all sorts of driver install variations on compatibility ect. Which is why i bought this one.

I just have a b access point, and i'd like it to be pci as my usb slots are all filled.

If someone could recommend a card on newegg.com that will be compatible with windows 7 64-bit, i would be greatful

Thanks for taking the time :)

I found this on newegg. It looks promising, though windows 7 drivers are not really main stream yet, so it is hard to tell what will actually be supported with new drivers, etc...

::: EDIMAX Technology :::

Newegg.com - EDIMAX EW-7728In IEEE 802.11b/g, IEEE 802.11n Draft 32bit PCI Wireless 802.11n Draft 2.0 PCI Card Up to 300Mbps Data Rates WEP 64/128, WPA, WPA2 Cisco CCX V1.0, V2.0 & V3.0 Compliance - Wireless Adapters

It supports Vista 64bit, so it should have windows 7 64bit support since they really didn't touch the networking area of windows 7.

Will run your roughly $35, and most people suggest getting the newest drivers off the website and not use the CD since they are quite dated.

Ok, thats one to take into consideration, though im a bit uncertain on whether i should use an ndraft card, the one i have now is ndraft, and while looking up my problems people were reporting simmilar issues (stuttering) with ndraft cards : /

Is it really going to be hit or miss on whether it will work or not or will it most likely work? My old card that wont work at all is really really old : /

Well it supports the latest g version as well. I am sure you can disable ndraft if needed and just use g.

As for being a hit or miss, go for a card that is supported in Vista 64bit and has recent drivers posted on their site to show they are actively updating their products. You can also go for a gcard, but that card is a quick find in a few minutes on google.

If you still need help let us know. If your card currently is g and a n, see if you can force g only and see if that fixes your problem. Seeing as N is brand new and G has been massively used and pretty much common in everything now and works almost flawlessly.

K, I've tried the software that comes with it to do that and no luck.

I found out that if i am physically touching my card, it doesnt stutter and my internet gets the speed it should be, so i crammed a screwdriver in my case to touch the card, just th epart where you put the screw. No problems so far, so maybe i dont need a new card.

Its so weird though, like my wireless mp3 player, i have to physically hold it in the car or i get static...

Well i'll see how this holds out :)

Maybe it isn't getting grounded properly?? By putting a screwdriver in the area of the screw it completes the connection cause maybe the screw is too small for the hole, or by you holding it it allows your body to act like the ground? I don't know anything about electricity so i am probably wrong.

No, i think you've got the right idea, it makes sense with hows its acting, and it seems to be the same concept as my mp3 player. Im not sayin i know thats the cause but i hadnt thought of that, and i agree with your theory :)
