hello there
i am running on an hp pavillion dv6 - 1235ee model

i did a test and my pc passed the test for being able to run the vt required by vm

but in the bois i cant find the vt option any where
not even in the bios advanced settings

i contacted hp chat support and they told me that i have to bring the notebook to their service center and they will do it manually....

is there any other way to do it ?

regards

That is because HP and the like customize the BIOS and remove certain feature settings so they don't ahve to support them.

If they say they will do it at a shop,, then you will need to take it in there or risk voiding the warranty.

If it is Intel Based, you can try finding the Intel Tool Kit (a.k.a. ITK) and try modifying the BIOS yourself, but this is advanced thing that you could cause major issues and void your warranty. I post it as a suggestion, but don't recommend it.

I also have no idea if it will even work.

Call HP or check for a BIOS update. I have always wondered why they always customize the BIOS...

hp support told me that the nootbook support the vt

but they cant tell me how to unlock it because the nootbook model is originally not for a win 7 OS that uses vt

which is pretty dumb

vmware is the one that told me to enable the vt :S

any idea if i can use custum bios'es ?
