Hi Mike,

Please post a screenshot of Disk management window. Also the output of Easybcd View.

I removed the Win 7 drive and can now get into Vista, but there is no boot menu anymore. I restored Vista, and it didn't bring back the boot menu, even with the Win 7 disk installed.
Here's screen shots. Yeah, I know, only one boot option.

I think I saved something in EasyBCD to the W7 drive and it screwed the boot menu up. Doesn't matter what boot OS I choose, it still booted to 7. How can I fix it without installing 7 again?

I just saw your post - what is different from your screenshot and easybcd entries now?

Post the screenshot and easybcd entry as they are now.

Don't change anything after that - coz that is what I will be going on.

To clarify things, there is no boot menu now, even with the Win 7 drive installed.

You boot straight into Vista and that's it. Not surpised with only one bcd entry.

Open an elevated command prompt and type: ( or copy and paste these)

cd /d e:\windows\system32

then press enter

bcdboot e:\windows /s c:

then press enter

close cmd window.

Now EasyBCD show two entries, but the first one for 7 shows Drive: E:\ is that ok?

There are a total of 2 entries listed in the Vista Bootloader.
Bootloader Timeout: 30 seconds.
Default OS: Windows 7

Entry #1

Name: Windows 7
BCD ID: {default}
Drive: E:\
Bootloader Path: \windows\system32\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \windows

Entry #2

Name: Windows Vista (TM) Home Premium (recovered)
BCD ID: {current}
Drive: C:\
Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.exe
Windows Directory: \Windows
