Hi guys.

From some days, sometimes, I got this cdd.dll's BSOD. How can I solve it?

I try with sfc /scannow (with some errors, I've the logs) and I dumped the bsod...they're attached to this post.

Thank you for the help :)

edit: sfc log is huge (about 7MB), so I'll upload it only if you really need it

cdd.dll is display related element. Actually cdd stands for Canonical Display Driver. So, this BSOD indicates to somehow graphics failure.

And a deeper search reveals that the AMD display driver is failing.
Code:
fffff880`0b120968 fffff880`04efddc1Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\atikmdag.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for atikmdag.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for atikmdag.sys
 atikmdag+0x2eedc1
It more reveals that the driver is outdated, which may be one of the causes of the display failure.
Code:
fffff880`04152000 fffff880`041b1000 atikmpag (deferred)

Update your ATI/AMD display driver to the latest WHQL.
You can get it from the link in our forum, http://www.sevenforums.com/graphic-...alyst-video-driver-windows-7-a.html#post17671, or you may go to AMD Graphics Driver and Software and opt for Automatically Detect and Install the appropriate driver for your card.

During installation, you may opt for advanced installation, and install the display driver only, not the Catalyst Control Center.

Let us know the results.

Ok, thank you. Now I'm downloading the latest driver (but it's really strange that they're so much outdate, I formatted and re-installed my OS (and drivers too) in August...

Furthermore: today I got another BSOD, about rdyboosts.sys ...do you think that those errors are linked each other?

Hi again.

I'm installing the new driver downloaded from ATi's website, but it's a "legacy" driver and it tells me that my drivers are already updated. Probably it's due to the fact that my graphic card (HD4870) is a little old
