I had this small window popup twice now "Application Monitor" ?

Let's see if Eset brings up anything.

  1. Hold down Control (Ctrl key) and click on the following link to open ESET OnlineScan in a new window.
    ESET OnlineScan
  2. Click the
    esetOnline.png
    button.
  3. For alternate browsers only: (Microsoft Internet Explorer users can skip these steps)
    1. Click on
      esetSmartInstall.png
to download the ESET Smart Installer. Save it to your desktop.
    2. Double click on the
      esetSmartInstallDesktopIcon.png
      icon on your desktop.
  4. Check
    esetAcceptTerms.png
  5. Click the
    esetStart.png
    button.
  6. Accept any security warnings from your browser.
  7. Check
    esetScanArchives.png
  8. Push the Start button.
  9. ESET will then download updates for itself, install itself, and begin scanning your computer. Please be patient as this can take some time.
  10. When the scan completes, push
    esetListThreats.png
  11. Push
    esetExport.png
, and save the file to your desktop using a unique name, such as ESETScan. Include the contents of this report in your next reply.
  12. Push the
    esetBack.png
    button.
  13. Push
    esetFinish.png

Put both of the browsers back to default and see if that helps. Sometimes those little add on's do crazy things.

So for fun I fired up one of my Vbox's and went to that site..... Got nothing right off the bat, but while watching a video or 2 on that site it keeps playing the sound track to "Super Mario Bros' "...lol in the background of everything and any link you click on after page loads it starts the sound track over! Running a scan now will post back later..

Ok I've been watching videos on that site on and off since my last post, could not even catch a cold let alone virus/malware.(that does not mean there are none or it's safe!) The norton site showed "fake av" and your pic did not look like that type of thing. you might have picked something up elsewhere. I would say make sure your anti-virus are all up to date and scan again!, Check your system for un-known programs...ect.... And Stay Off Of Sites That Your AV Flags and Warns You About!!
Hopefully with a little more info someone can help you figure it out.... Post a snip of your task manager on the processes tab, maybe your start up items too. I do believe Post #2 outlined this. did you try it?

[FONT=Verdana, Arial]Hpqtra08 ---> HP Digital Imaging Monitor task installed by the drivers for many of HP’s All-in-One and PhotoSmart ranges of printers, or installed by the HP software which comes with HP digital cameras. This task shows up as a System Tray icon. The icon has a green check mark if the connection between your PC and the HP printer/camera is fine, or a red cross if there is a problem (printer/camera not turned ON, not connected, communication error, or problem with the printer, etc..). In addition to providing a visual status of your HP printer or camera, this task also monitors your printer or camera for events relating to the imaging functions of your printer or camera, and depending on the event it detects, it starts the appropriate program on the PC. For example : end-user pressing the Scan To button on the printer which results in the HP Director software opening up on the PC to complete the scanning process; or, insertion of a memory card in your PhotoSmart or All‑in‑One photo printer which results in the HP Image Transfer or HP Image Unload software opening up.

Well doing a recovery will fix most things until you do the same thing again. Then your back to the same problem. When you install a anti virus you must have some kind of trust in the program. When it tells you don't do this, don't do it.

Same thing... different website.

I just experienced this pop-up when opening my web browser. I would rather not share the web page, as that points to my main email provider and ISP. However, was it determined this is a locally bound program (IE. installed on my machine already) or is it a web-installer spyware; like when you get a pop-up telling you so and so scanner detected virus' and "click here" to fix?

Google dont say much of anything concerning an application called ONLY "Monitor Application 1.0" by a programmer in the three blocks "T A L". Im not on an HP machine either and only have basic software installed. The most I have NOT part of my OS build is my Kodak printer app, but nothing in Kodak Support on this either.

I also went all BSOD when my intial search for details on this program began. Here is the file. If someone has away to view without downloading someones software I dont know, let me know (no offense if your the software programmer but hey, security sense is security sense... you understand, right.)

Anyhow, heres the file all Rar'd and waiting for response. I think I deleted the main memory dump file... sorry but only the minidump is here.

Monitor Application v1.0

I am having the same problem. I am runing norton 2012, I try to stay off of stange web sites. This window only comes up the first time you open IE9, there will be NO flashing | in the search window. At this time if you hit the enter key the window will appear,("Monitor Application v1.0") hit enter again makes it go away, hit enter again its back. Clicking your mouse anywhere on the page and the message goes away until you close all windows and restart IE9.
