In Xp Pro I could turn off the navigation panel on the left side in the folders on my desktop. And it wouldn't effect the navigation panel in windows explorer. In Win7 I find when I turn off the navigation panel in the folders on my desktop it also effects windows explorer. Why is this happening? Is there a way to fix this?

Turning the navigation pane on or off in Windows 7 is a global setting in Windows Explorer. It can't just be turned on or off for individual folders in Windows Explorer.
