I have all italics in IE8 & Outlook!!

Yup.. if you have bold or italic fonts in windows, and you've tried changing font settings but nothing works.. The problem is, the non-italic non-bold, plain jane, regular font has been deleted for whichever font you're using.

i had this problem and i tried everything. Its a simple fix you wont believe it download arieal font and reinstall it restart browser fixed.

I had this problem which I noticed while browsing a site using Arial. All Arial text was in italics.
I checked my Fonts folder and saw arial.ttf was there, but checking my registry showed that while the other variants of Arial were listed (italics, bold, narrow etc) regular Arial was not.

The fix was simple, in the registry under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Fonts
add a new string value, give it the name Arial (TrueType)
and set the value to arial.ttf

Reboot and problem was solved.
