1-ASACPI.SYS
ASACPI.sys Sun Mar 27 22:30:36 2005
The 2005 version of this driver is a known BSOD cause.
Please visit this link: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.-Support- download_item_mkt
Scroll down to the Utilities category, then scroll down to the "ATK0110 driver for WindowsXP/Vista/Windows 7 32&64-bit " (it's about the 8th item down).
Download and install it.
Go to C:\Windows\System32\drivers to check and make sure that the ASACPI.sys file is date stamped from 2009 or 2010 (NOT 2005).

2-ESET firewall (epwndis.sys)--remove and replace with Microsoft security essentials and win 7 firewall

How To Find Drivers:
- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

And Old, Old drivers that need updating. You obviously upgraded instead of clean installing like MS and ost of us recommend.

First time poster here. Excellent forum and great resouce.

I've been getting BOD's now for over a week and it only hapens when I start to download something through a Torrent program like Utorrent/Bit Torrent and the new one Tixati. The system is stable but once one of these programs goes to download a file I get a BOD 100% of the time. I have used the program Bluescreen view and this is what it came up with:

Driver causes: ntoskrnl.exe and tcpip.sys

File Description: (NT Kernel & System)

File version 6.1.7600.16617 (win7_gdr.100618-1621)

Full Path:C:\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

Caused by address:tcpip.sys+897aO

Caused by Driver: tcpip.sys

Sorry for not supplying the dump file as I'm not 100% of the process and what program to install to obtain and save them. Please advise.

I have tried reinstalling Windows 32 as well as 64bit 3 times over but receive the same BOD. I have received advice form the dedicated Asus Sabertooth forum saying to install the Realtek Lan driver from the Asus install disc only as windows default ones were causing BOD's for some users. I have tried 3 differnet drivers (5 times off the Asus disc after uninstalling driver in device mananger nothing is fixing the issue.

As mentioned I only get the BOD's when I start to download anything through a Torrent program and I can surf the net and download drivers etc with no errors of any kind. I ran disc check no problems and the motherboard has a memory button to check and automaically set it and boots saying memory checks out plus i'm running a Asus utiltity called Asus Probe 11 and that tell me everything is running "Safe" and no heat issues going by the temperatures.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
