Solved I hope someone can help with System Restore issue

I hope someone can help with System Restore issue.

Windows 7 64 bit.

For quite some time I have been working long hours on a project,
and stupidly haven't kept up with housekeeping.

Especially keeping an eye on Hard Drive space.

Yesterday my machine started to act oddly, first Outlook icon
swapped its icon - then refused to download emails (but would send).

I then checked the hard drives and noticed only just over 3GB
on both C: & D: (one drive partitioned).

Eventually it crashed BSOD 0x0000007E

(I haven't installed anything for ages - so that came as a surprise).

I ran it in Safe Mode - and without giving it much thought, I went and selected
"Last Good Configuration".

It took a while but when it did open I could tell after a short while
that this seemed to be far from a: Last Good Configuration.

MY QUESTION

I know I'm probably clutching at straws - but is there a way to recover
these deleted restore points?

I've found a Windows PowerShell with;

PS C:\> Get-ComputerRestorePoint

(first time I'd even known about this power shell).

It said it could find hidden/all restore points - but it didn't find anything.

Even though I was short on HD space I thought I'd find at least one
System Restore Point - the one that I had saved after I got this system
ticking over nicely.

After the system rebooted it come back with 11GB on C: HD

Any help / ideas gratefully received.

System protection service allocates disk space for System Restore to use to create restore points. By default, System Protection uses about 5% of the disk for this purpose. When system restore runs out of disk space then older restore points are deleted to enable the creation of new ones.

Once the older restore points have been deleted then there is no way to recover them. Then, to restore computer to a much earlier point in time, you would need rely on restoring any backups of the system image, if you have already created these.

If you are still experiencing problems after using the Last Known Good Configuration recovery process, then two useful things to try are:
1) chkdsk /f /v
2) sfc /scannow

Run these from the elevated command window.

I think that is for a more recent version of powershell - not for windows 7.
