This question has nothing to do with my Windows 7 computer...
But maybe all you PC savvy folks could help me anyway??
(If this thread has to be deleted, I understand.)
I'm on my old laptop (Windows XP), trying to run an old DOS game called "Alone In The Dark", but it's not working. Anybody know how to make this old game work on XP?

Umm you can't. You have to install DOS on a virtual machine. You can download MICROSOFT VIRTUAL PC and install DOS on there.
Or, you can install Microsoft Virtual PC, and then download a DOS vhd file and put it in documents>my virtual machines>dos (might need to make a new folder and name it dos)

The easiest way to run the game would be in DosBox.
Alone in the Dark 1, 2 and 3 run fine in DosBox.

The DosBox Wiki is quite informative and easy to understand. I think you'll have the game running in minutes

I still use DosBox on my Windows 7 machine, works flawlessly. Even with games like Alien Breed and UFO: Enemy Unknown (although a little too fast ) :roflmao:
