So, I haven't done anything else really - just placed an order and paid it. I received Windows 8 Key through email.

Can I keep on using Windows 7 or do I need to install Windows 8 ASAP? I'm kinda lazy finding upgrades for my drivers and applications for this month...

Also I heard it is impossible to do clean install. Really? I really don't like to upgrade instead of full reformat - there's many good reasons to reformat instead of upgrade.

I don't think there's a big rush on installing Windows 8.

It is quite possible to do a clean install of Windows 8, just so long as you have your product key.

You can Clean Install with Windows 8 Upgrade

If you want to test it out to see if you really want a touchscreen OS on a desktop/laptop then follow the steps to Dual Boot Installation - Windows 8 and Windows 7 - Windows 8 Forums

You have 30 days to activate Win8 when you'll have to stop using Win7, or you can delete Win8 in Disk Mgmt. To remove Win7 mark 8 partition Active to run Win8 Windows 8 Automatic Repair until 8 partition holds the System Active flags when you can delete Win7 in Disk Mgmt and resize 8 into its space: Partition Wizard Resize Partition - Video Help.

Just to be clear, greg, if for some reasons I refuse to activate my Windows 8 and would like to continue Windows 7 after 30 days, is it allowed?

And that clean install article is useful. Thanks!

Yes, to my knowledge it's the same as Win7: you only lose the use of the Win7 Product Key for the period it's being used to qualify for Win8 Upgrade version, not permanently if you abandon Win8.

You might also query them at our sister forums Windows 8 Forums where they are more directly familiar with it.

Thanks. I'll go over there and...register new account first. >_>
