I keep going offline

Hi folks. Every so often I get a message up saying I'm offline, would I like to continue to work offline or try to go back online. I'm instructed to go into 'File', and untick the 'Work Offline' button. Why do I have to keep doing this. I never tick the 'Work Offline' button.

Is this your email client that is giving you this? If so, which one do you have?

No, this is a Windows message in a box in the middle of the screen. Seems to happen when I've visited any web page and left the pc on that page for some time (no particular page), say for half an hour or so. So I leave the pc connected to the internet and then it goes offline for some reason.
