I am running Windows 7 on an HP Pavilion Slimline. On the "Associate a file type or protocol with a specific program" screen, under the Control Panel I changed the .lnk from Unknown Application to Internet Explorer under the "Current Default" column. What I didn't know was that it would change most of my shortcuts to an Internet Explorer icon and now I can't get them to work. When I click on one, it asks me if I want to save, run, or open. My question is, can I change the Current Default for .lnk back to Unknown Application and if I can, will that fix what I've messed up? Or if anyone knows how to fix it another way, please help. Thanks in advance, Joel.

Shawn, you are a lifesaver! All I had to do was do the tutorial on the only file I messed up and it fixed all of my shortcuts that were affected. You don't know how much I appreciate this. I am on disability and I have to use my computer for most everything, especially paying bills, lol. Again, thanks and I hope you have a great day.
