Locate the executable install file for a program, (usually setup.exe), and right click it. From there select properties. In the properties window there is a tab labeled compatibility. You can set it there to run in compatibility mode for windows XP or windows vista.

Doesn't work for me. Not sure if the drivers only work with 32Bit versions of Win7 or what, but the driver seems to install fine with Win 7 64Bit but Windows claims there are no drivers installed.

Tried compatibility with everything.

Added: Found a 64Bit XP driver on the Samsung website that seems to have worked. Not overly easy to install but I can print now, although it sometimes forgets the printer is there and takes a couple of attempts.

Update: The Samsung ML-1210 drivers also work and using them are probably ... will fail to detect your printer as it's not officially a Samsung, .... Windows Vista x86 (32-bit), |---- Windows 7, |------ Windows 7 OS ...

This is exactly the problem that I'm facing! My OS is XP 64 Bit and my ML 1210 is giving the same problem (as you have mentioned - sometimes printer is forgotten and taking two attempts to print, though not always) which is really annoying and we may miss some important documents to be printed after closing them, and also the print log shows wrong number of documents printed actually (as I need to keep an eye on how many prints my users are taking)

I too used the same X64 driver from Samsung Website.

Initially I thought it is related to some physical problems such as USB Cable and I had to change as many as 3 cables for that and also tried Parallel cable as well. But glad (not to mean that way!) to know that somebody else has the same problem which now makes me believe that its driver related and nothing to do with hardware or connectivity!

Is any updated driver available for this printer (of course XP x 64) now?

Added: Found a 64Bit XP driver on the Samsung website that seems to have worked. Not overly easy to install but I can print now, although it sometimes forgets the printer is there and takes a couple of attempts.

I can't get the driver program to find my Samsung ML 1210 printer. It will install but says that the printer is either not turned on or not plugged in. I have attached a USB cable to my original many pronged cable. I downloaded the 64 bit XP program as suggested by someone who couldn't get the other Vista program to work but I can't get this program to run. Can anyone help me.

Welcome to seven forums mneumann: Their is actually a win 7 driver dated Oct 2009 here. Sometimes you need to start the setup with printers then plug them in when prompted. I don't know if this is true with yours or not. Click the driver tab, second driver from the bottom. Support for ML-1210 SAMSUNG Their are also how to and troubleshooting guides available on the same page.Hope this helps. Fabe
