Solved I need help creating/saving a Google map using desktop PC

Hello all,

I do not know if this is an appropriate place to ask this, but with all the tech savvy people here maybe i can find the answer i am looking for.

I want to create a google map, customize the route and save it for later use.

I am going to a new city to a concert and want to make a specific driving route using my desktop computer, NOT the one my smartphone would take to get me home, thus the reason for wanting to make a custom driving route map that i can save and pull up later when leaving the venue and will know i am taking the quickest way home.

Without knowing more about your system (especially installed software, browsers, etc), it's hard to say for sure.

And I'm not sure if I fully understand what you ask:

Do you want to generate a file or a link to send to or sync on your smart phone for use when you are away from the computer, to guide your route home?

There are probably a dozen ways to do what you want. But it sounds as if you might be over-thinking this or making it a bit harder than it needs to be?

In Google maps on your phone, just modify the route from the default one to one that you want. Just because Google maps suggests one route does not mean you cannot modify it. Then save it on the phone.

In Google maps on your computer, you could modify the route from the default one to one that you want.
Then, you could:

• "Print" the map/route to pdf and send that pdf file to your phone via email or bluetooth or other means; or
• Email yourself the unique link to the route that you have created in Google maps (you might need to use tinyURL or a similar service to create a short URL); or
• Or take a screen shot of the route/map and send that file to your phone via email or bluetooth; or
• Print a hard copy of the map/route and take that with you; or
• Probably several other procedures -- I'm sure the folks here will have many other suggestions, perhaps syncing with Google Chrome or other apps.

I already have the procedure for linking the saved map to my cell phone, but an trying to find out the step-by step procedure to create and save a google map once created.

This is all i want to do, no paper maps pls.

Sorry all, just figured it out!!

Now if i could figure out how to delete all the screwed up maps i made during this process!!
