Good morning everyone.
I am working with a friends Win7 equipped laptop. It has a problem wereby when you start the laptop up it does not accept the password and gives the following message:
"The user profile service failed the login.
The user profile cannot be loaded."
This laptop has one user profile and is password protected. You need to enter the user profile password to get access to the laptop. I have the correct password, but still i receive the above message. I tried rebooting into safe mode and the laptop works perfect, so I tried to restore it to an earlier time with no results. Also, I cannot use the task manger to log on say as the administrator either.
As a side note the owner cannot find the OEM Win7 disks and therefore I cannot reload Windows so I need to fix this problem somehow by some means other than reloading windows. A repair shop wants to charge her $300.00 to fix the problem, and i am hoping to do it myself for her. This problem developed when she went to a public library and tried to use their wireless internet access. She thinks maybe it is a virus, but i don't think so.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
