Solved I need help finding a Windows 7 driver for the Intel I2C Controller.

So... I've installed Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bits on my ASUS laptop in Legacy Bios Mode (Because UEFI gives BSoD) and everything went fine, except for two drivers: The Intel Serial IO I2C Host Controller and Intel Serial Storage Control Cluster (AKA: Card Reader Controller). I can't find them anywhere, there is one driver i found that is unsigned, however after installing and rebooting it causes a BSoD, i've tried driver finding programs like "Driver Easy" and "Driver Booster" but none of them find the correct driver. Is there actually any driver in existance for those devices?

These are the Hardware Ids:
ACPI\808622C1 (Intel(R) Celeron(R)/Pentium(R) Serial IO (SIO) I2C - 22C1)
ACPI\80860F14 (Intel(R) Celeron(R)/Pentium(R) Storage Control Cluster - 0F14)

Also that I2C driver is requiered for the touchpad to work.

My specs are:
CPU: Intel Celeron N3060
GPU: Intel HD Graphics 400
RAM: 4GB DDR3
HDD: 500GB TOSHIBA Drive
Computer Model: ASUS X541SA

Your VEN number for both devices is 8086.
Your DEV number for the Serial IO device is 22C1; your DEV number for the Storage Control Cluster is 0F14.

In the past, there was an extremely useful website, www.pcidatabase.com, where you could look up a driver using the VEN and/or DEV number; sadly, that site went dark several months ago. You would definitely have found the correct drivers at that website.

I went to Startpage.com and did a search for "alternative for pcidatabase.com". There is some information there about alternatives to pcidatabase.com, but I've never explored any of them. You could search along those lines, and you would likely find where to get the drivers for these devices.

Another thing you could do is an ASUS Factory Restore on the computer, if you can find the option on your computer, or if you can obtain a set of Factory Restore disks from ASUS. Everything will work after doing a Factory Restore; but your hard drive will be wiped clean in the process.

Yes, i've heard about that page but i just wanted to know if there was a driver available for those devices, as even searching for hours i couldn't find anything that works, this computer was designed to be used with Windows 10 x64, however i installed Windows 7 because 10 runs slow, has mouse lag and the audio drivers oftenly stop working and i have to reinstall them. Well, thanks for your help anyway... If i find the correct drivers i'll post them here.

Choose "Automatically update your drivers" - click Get Started. There is a program there for auto-detecting what is in your computer, and then listing the drivers which are available.

Also, you could do a search at the Intel website for "Serial IO". I did that and it listed several different drivers, one of which was for Windows 7. Not sure if it is the correct one, but it wouldn't hurt to try it. You could also try Windows 8.1 drivers.

Ok, i've already tried that "automatic tool" for detecting drivers but found nothing, i also tried the drivers SIW2 linked in his post, and yes there are all of the drivers for this computer in there, but those two are missing. I'm going to try searching "Serial IO" in the Intel website like you suggested, thanks .

I am still searching for this driver to make my touchscreen work on my dell venue pro 11 7130 with windows 7 x64 on it. I've downloaded the drivers directly from Intel's website and used slim drivers which installed a version of the the driver. Neither work, they just wont start. Device manager shows a yellow exclamation point. My hardware id is ACPI\INT33C2. I have an Intel core i5 4300y and an Intel chipset so it should be an Intel driver.

I would love to make this touchscreen work in Win7, I have a 5 way boot in uefi between Windows 10, Windows 7, Ubuntu 18.04lts, android x86 on version 8.0, and max OSX Mojave 10.14. These OS'es are NOT in a virtual machine. Touch works on all of them EXCEPT Windows 7. The mac osx kext is a port from Linux which is why touch works due to it working in Linux natively. This is frustrating that touch works in android and mac osx and yet not windows 7 on a windows machine. granted it was made for windows 8 and beyond but this is unacceptable that there are drivers put out by Intel and Microsoft that are signed and install without issue yet they don't work.

Any help getting these drivers to start would be great.

my old Asus UX305C has a similar issue. touchpad is NOT working on Win7.

It's coming with Win10. Later I re-installed Win7 Pro 64-bit with all drivers. running fine and no error messages. Unfortunately, its Smart Gesture stays inactive.

To make the HID/pointing device working on Win7, it requests both Intel I2C driver on Win7 and Microsoft Win7 driver.

My google search showed, Intel has released I2C driver on Win7 32/64-bit (different to Win10 version. hence incompatible). While Microsoft driver minimum requirement is Windows 8.1, excluded Windows 7. Therefore, no go on Win7.
I actually installed smoothly ASUS Smart Gesture drivers on Win7 64-bit, no error messages after installed Intel I2C driver first. but as said, touchpad remained inactive. Yellow mark stays there. a dead end.

Hi

MS started changing the way touchpad was supported from W8....(inside HID)
Had an old Acer which like yours required the SmartGesture suite AND the Synaptics touchpad driver as well
(outside of HID - with a seperate header tab on the driver device details properties)

Check the PCI/VEN details of the driver
note might be Synaptics or Elan
