Wow, this place seems full of intelligent people please share! I need some help figuring out all of these settings, I see people with 5.00Ghz and higher and have settings of 250 FSB and a multiplier at 20 etc. It's obvious I have no idea what I'm doing. I either don't boot or BSOD. If anyone could help I would be grateful! Or turn me on to where I can learn properly, I'm not lazy and glad to put in the effort!

I would say people getting FSB at 250 are very lucky for me anything over 220 will brick on any benchmarks but also depends on your ram you can Oc ram only so much untill you need to up the voltage

It is mostly using the FSB in co operation with the Multiplyer and voltages
Not all chips are made the same and some take more voltages then others and some boards might be different as in the Bios

The board you are using though should be good enough to get you atleast a stable 4.7 4.8 if done properly

@ Solar... would you happen to have a list of settings or screen shot of the bios settings? Wasn't sure if you had this chip or not. Either way thank you for the tips!

I can tell you

20.5 multiplyer

FSB 220

Ram is 1600mhz corsair vengeance lp /xpm =1760 mhz vis FSB

v-core is 1.449 with v-drop it drops to 1.42 underload 1.41 to 1.38

Im use-ing Msi 990 FX GD-80 board

I left the ram at stock voltages 1.5 v but if i choose to oc them more to 2000 mhz i would have to bump to 1.65

But again maybe not the same ram board etc but i find a better Oc useing FSB in combination with the multiplyer

One thing for sure see how far you can push the cpu on stock before it won't post after that start bumping voltages that is what i started to do

That way you can fine tune everything little bit at a time

I run your exact setup. I am running a constant 4.63 ghz, 1.38v, 20.5, 225

I can run the lower voltage and thus, lower temps by bumping up the CPU current control to 120% and then setting CPU power control to Extreme and also setting CPU/NB Current control to 110%. I've been playing Guild Wars 2 solid at these settings. Still need to test in Crysis. I don't see why I couldn't continue this trend, as I was running a cheap 4+1 phase M5A88-M Asus board at these identical CPU/ FSB settings/ same speed etc. for months.
