Need help overclocking

one of my computers is an hp pavilion a309.uk with 256mb with windows 7 ultimate and a intel celeron processor and i want to overclock it, cpu at 2.40Ghz

plus the bus speed for my processer is 100mhz and the rated fsb is 400mhz

i used a app called CPU - Z to find system info

HP computer, forget about it as the bios is locked (or at least the settings needed aren't available) for overclocking.

Just lending confirmation that the prepackaged computers from HP, Dell and such do indeed lock out all of these settings. I'm afraid you would have to change the motherboard to make any progress with this.

Windows 7 Ultimate on a Celeron sytem with 256MB RAM! Dude, forget about overclocking, start by upgrading your RAM to at least 1G!

I concur, don't bother until you do a complete hardware upgrade.
Have you considered building your own system? (not that difficult).

Technically you could overclock it with a software based app like SetFSB or Clockgen (if the chipsets are supported) - but it's really, really not worth the effort.

If you are seriously trying to get more performance out of that thing - more RAM will help rather than overclocking it.

If it's just a 'because you can' and you don't care if that HP breaks type of thing - then try one of the linked apps.
