my i pod touch screen is messed up when i put my finger near the screen it clicks an app.

or when im scrolling on a webpage it scrolls randomly.

this happens when im not even touching the screen it happens when i put it like a couple cm's away

Hello,
I have encountered this issue before and the culprit was the USB Power Adapter. Are you connecting to a USB Power Adapter? If so, unplug and see what happens.

Make a backup of your iPod Touch in case if an error occurs.

Hold the power button and the home button until it reboots (when it shows the apple logo, you can release the buttons).
