These are my pictures of a similar situation. However I am only using Firefox to browse the forum and , now, typing this.
I'm now using 1.287 GB 31% of 4GB as I type this.
I noticed I'm using twice as much CPU as you with only a few more processes running.
As you say I think running the snipping tool and displaying task manager puts up the RAM use slightly.
It's a bit better than Vista x64 but not a great amount less.
Best wishes, John

Memory management under Win 7 is handled far more efficiently than Vista IMO, it really does a great job in that department, even on systems with very little RAM.
Windows 7 is definitely going to become one of the best operating systems out there. I'm using it now and I love it.
People have said Windows Vista is bloated due to the large system requirements when compared to Mac OS X. Since Windows 7 has the same requirements, some people are saying it's just as bloated. However, is there really any validity in this claim? I don't think so.

I would have to say no. Just because something has a smaller footprint doesn't mean it is any better. It could be coded in such a way it is actually slower to use then something that is larger but has efficient programming.

Eh... guys. Well, I don't think Vista would love to handle all of that. On top of all, I ran StepMania 3.9 over Audiosurf and it ran without a hitch : thing that Vista would really don't appreciate. Multitasking For The Motherf****** Win.
I wonder what would happen if I lauch Unreal Tournament III on top of it all? lol

Windows 7 might be able to handle it, but i bet after some many video games, and i mean REAL video games your videocard might start being the bottleneck.

Hi! ^o^
Audiosuft is a game that uses great 3D graphics and allow you to play a race mixed with puzzle with a space car using your own challenging MP3's.
My comment sounds like an ad.
Well, on-topic again... this is the Windows 7 that I use at work when I'm burning CDs at 16X speed with 11 tabs in Firefox, Remote Desktop and some other garbage.
When I'm not using it, with programs closed, used too use from 700~850 MB. of RAM.
For specs of the PC, see my specs...
