i shrink E drive and created a new volume(dynamic)After ItIsNotBooting

Recently, i shrinked the E drive(Total drives 3 C,D,E) and created a new volume F as a dynamic disk.
After i restarted the laptop, it is not booting .....


PLEASE ANY HELP APPRECIATED AND REQUIRED....

can i re-install the os with a copy of installation disc..

If there are more than four primary partitions in a disk, it must be converted to a dynamic one, and you havent counted the hidden system reserved partition in count while partitioning more. So it happened.

You cannot boot from a Dynamic Disk . You are to convert it to basic first. Follow the tutorial http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/26829-convert-dynamic-disk-basic-disk.html .

But it will wipe the entire HDD, and you will loss all your data.

There are paid third party programs that can do it without any data loss . See it : Convert Dynamic Disk to Basic without Data Loss!

I haven't installed any secondary OS in that dynamic disk (F or in any of other..i have my OS in C drive..After creating a new disk(Dynamic) i cannot boot the os which is in c drive..
Can i install a fresh OS (either there is a loss of data) ?

You will not be able to install an working OS in a dynamic disk. Your installation is already there, but as the dynamic disk cannot booted from, your OS is not working.

You are to convert it yo basic at first.

Either follow the first link for the conversion. It will delete all the existing partitions there, so you will loss all your user data. And, after that, you will need to make the partitions again, and install the OS again. But remember, no more than 4 primary partitions. Go for logical partitions if you need more than 4.

or, install the other paid program I linked to another computer, attach your HDD there, delete the last created partition there, and convert it back to basic, you will get everything back.

The problem is that you converted your HD to Dynamic which is only meant to be used to span a partition across multiple HD's. Apparently you didn't see the warning message.

The solution to solve this non-destructively is to boot free Partition Wizard CD version 4.2 which is the last one which offers this as a free feature: pw422.zip ISO - Windows Live.

Download the ISO, rightclick to burn it to CD using Windows Image Burner, or use ImgBurn.

Boot CD. You will need to delete the extra partition(s) you created which tipped it to convert to Dynamic before it will convert back to Basic.

Thanks for the help gregrocker and arc.. is there a way to install them from a flash drive(pen drive) as the pc i'm saying is a netbook(samsung bought just before a month) ?

You should consider contacting Samsung Tech Support which is included free for the first year along with a full replacement and hardware warranty.

PW offers writing to flash stick only in their paid edition. However I have seen reports that users have written the bootable ISO to stick using Win2Flash or Universal USB Installer. It may take some experimenting if you don't want to pay for PW to get a flash stick.

Or you can borrow an external CD drive to boot the PW CD.
