I think yesterday's updates destroyed my computer. HELP

Hey guys. Theres these 2 updates that installed themselves on my PC yesterday night while I was shutting down. Today they would refuse to go past 0% at the "Configuring Windows Updates" stage. First time I shut off my PC, and restarted, it did the same thing but eventually gave up and let me log in.

This was also the day I was switching to a new GPU, from nVidia to ATI. I forgot to uninstall my nVidia drivers before the switch so when I was unable to install the ATI drivers or for some reason uninstall the nVidia drivers through the control panel (don't know why, maybe because my nVidia card wasnt in), I decided to use driver sweeper to remove nVidia display driver, chipset driver, and PhysX forcefully. I dont think that was a good idea, but I dont know if that was the problem.

After I did the sweeper thing I was prompted to restart. Now the thing starts loading windows, and when the logo starts to fly in, about a second in it freezes and restarts. When I tried to put in my GTX 260 again, I was able to catch a brief blue screen just before it restarts: http://i54.tinypic.com/3013vy9.jpg

I've been fighting this thing for the whole day now and I'm exhausted. I think I'm going to give up for now and try to do some schoolwork before going to sleep (tomorrow is NOT going to be a good day). What I was curious about is whether it's possible to somehow uninstall or remove the two faulty windows updates that I think caused this (Im pretty sure they started with KB29 and KB34). Or any other ideas, I don't know. Rewriting boot sector or something, I tried the /Fix thing but maybe I should rebuild it completely (saw it somewhere else on this forum). I honestly don't know what to do. The lack of system restore makes this a lot more complicated.

I dont want to reformat - honestly - it's like my worst fear. So please, I need some help. Thank you.

That is sad. It probably saved you very little performance and time, and while not needed 98% of the time, it certainly does come in handy.

I had problems with both of these updates causing my computer to sit at 0% complete for 5+ minutes...which for a quad core box with an SSD is a very long time to wait. Eventually I hit my desktop, it showed updates failed. I went into Windows update, said restart, it configured about 34% of the updates and then shut down and the machine rebooted 2 or 3 times and everything is back up and fine now.

If...you do end up formatting, do yourself a favor and take frequent images of your machine with something like Acronis (pay for product) or Macrium (free product). These things can certainly save your bacon. After my update issues, I'm running a system image right now. Only takes about 5 minutes.

Are the updates you guys are talking about KB2533552 & KB2534366?

I'm looking at them now, haven't installed them yet.

It looks like they are supposed to be installed separately, KB2534366 first.

You're getting a 7b bsod, probably a bad disk driver. Post the problem in the Crashes and Debugging subforum.
