i5 750 and Ram speeds

I want to do a relatively small overclock.

In my bios i have c states, turbo boost and speedstep disabled. Dont see a cE1 setting anywhere. My base clock speed is 160 at 20 multiplier so 3.2ghz. But my 1066mhz ddr3 ram is at 1281mhz at an 8 multiplier. Is it safe for my memory to be at that speed or should i take the multiplier down to 6 making it 979mhz?

Any help would be great!

Did you run Memtest and see if any errors. You have some good Kingston Ram, so it may be ok. Suggest you post some screenshots of your CPU-Z tabs, and lets see what your voltages are, etc.

Actually was interested in seeing those with the overclock. You have good ram, and tight timings. The ability to run Memtest through several cycles would probably be the deciding factor. You would be running the memory at considerably more than it's rating though. Perhaps post the same screens with the overclock. There are certainly members who are more experienced with Ram that can reply also.

I hope you have an aftermarket hsf for your processor; it is not recommended to do any overclocking on the stock hsf.
Edit: In my experience with overclocking, it is best to run the ram at it's rated speed or even slightly slower, overclocking the ram can cause the ram to error (happened to me twice) and might require you to replace it.

Ok here is my overclock info with prime95 running. My temperatures are the same with or without the overclock which is kinda odd. I heard the temps wont increase unless you increase the core voltage is that correct? Also even though my cpu fan speed is at 100% it is only at 2400RPM even though the max is 3000RPM. Most of the time it runs at 2800RPM, find it kinda odd that it fluctuates when it suppose to be at 100% speed. My tempertures when the cpu fan is working correctly(2800-3000rpm) are about 3-4 degrees Celsius lower then whats in that picture i just posted.

I set the ram speed multiplier down to 6 from 8 so its running a little slower(about 100mhz slower). I dont like have the ram running slower, but not sure if its safe to run it 200mhz faster than stock. I did try it out at 1281mhz in a game for a couple hours and didnt notice any problems.

This intel board has very little options in bios for overclocking. I dont see anything about Qpi link in there and i cant seem to set my own core voltage. It just says core voltage override and then it gives me two options 100mV and 50mV(???).

Sorry my mistake didn't see that either.
If your Ram will run at the higher speed without having to increase the voltage any and your not getting any errors or increased heat, I would think it to be Ok. Looks like a good overclock to me. Fabe

I just wanted to post this to find out what the deal is, found this to be kinda odd. I did two Everest CPU and Memory benchmark tests. One with c state and speedstep enabled the other with them disabled. Look at the higher memory values with c state and speedstep enabled...whats with that?

Anyone know why speedstep + c state enabled is showing a higher memory score? Its called enhanced speedstep in bios not just speedstep btw.
