Solved Icon Change - No Option?

I have attached a screenshot of the properties dialogue. With other utilities I come across a change icon button in the properties but not here. How can I change the icon on programs with this kind of properties dialogue? I looked in all the tabs and did not see a change icon button.

thnx.

Hello MourningStart,

You would need to create a shortcut from explorer.exe instead, then you will be able to change the icon of the shortcut.

Hope this helps,
Shawn
Yes - I am aware of this. However, the drawback to this method is that when I pin that shortcut to the taskbar and launch the application it adds it to an already overpopulated taskbar. I want to avoid this and have it behave like the original program icon, meaning, with the original program icon no additional icon is added and with multiple ie windows, hovering the cursor over it will produce multiple mini-windows of the multiple open windows. Sorry for not mentioning this initially.

That's no problem. Here's what you could do for this if you like.
  • Unpin the default Internet Explorer icon on the taskbar.
  • Change the Internet Explorer shortcut's icon in Start Menu -> All Programs -> "Internet Explorer" to what you want.
  • Pin that Internet Explorer to your taskbar, and drag it to where you want on the taskbar. Say where the old one used to be.
  • It should be have the same as the old default Internet Explorer icon except it has the icon you wanted instead.
