Icons went missing and rebuild IconCache.db doesn't work... HELP!!

Hi! First of all, I don't know if it can have something to do with it, but I installed UxThemePatcher and some themes on my computer. A few days later, I noticed that my Skype icon went missing. Then I opened my Start menu and realized that almost ALL my programs' icons were gone, replaced by standard .exe file icon. Just so you know, I've already tried to rebuild the IconCache.db file with a .bat script that I found on another forum and that apparently solved everyone's problems, but it didn' work for me. Well it did... but about 20 minutes later, they went missing AGAIN...

Please help me!

Do you have a System Restore point from before the change? That may be easiest

You can also run the System File Checker, be aware it will undo the UxThemePatcher and customizations made after

Be aware that if you have modified your system files as in theming explorer/system files, running sfc /scannow will revert the system files such as explorer.exe back to it's default state. Make the appropriate backups of your system files that you have modified for theming if you wish to save them before running sfc /scannow.
