There is problem with my application icons.Above of icons there is some kind of disk packets, there is silver type of disk above icon, which is irritating me a lot. Would you suggest me any solution.

yes i tried icon cache rebuild. but it didn't work

Sorry to say that I have tried these all but nothing is working. Could come up with any other solution.

very odd; when u create a new desktop icon -- does the prob still occur ...

yes when i create new application icon on desktop still problem occurs

do u have any suspect windows desktop add-ons installed? what if u create a new profile; does issues still remain with new profile and new icons ..

I am not sure if i had any desktop add ons installed . But in the other profile this problem also occures
