Ideas and Question

Hey folks, been a while since i've been on here last. I missed a fair amount of stuff.

First off, I wanted to suggest a chat room. I had a few small questions and i think a chat room would do well. Particularly with 50+ users on at a time.

But the thing i apperantly missed out on was getting off of build 7000. I'm still on 7000 and assumed it would update.
I am an avid techie but also use windows 7 as my primary OS. Is there a legit way to get off of 7000? I read a little blip about a roll-out in may, should i wait for that?

At this point it might not be a bad idea to wait for the RC, but I can say that I am using 7077 without any problems, 32bit on my laptop and 64bit on my desktop....

well waiting doesn't seem half bad. I got finals coming up here in the next little bit, maybe it will come out right after finals. Give me something to play with.

Any major improvements over 7000 in 7077? New features?

Must say, i'm pretty excited for the final release of W7.

Also, what forum software is this?
Its really neat, was wondering if it was free or open source or something.

No, he means the software being used to display these forums....

I know it is a heavily modified (in terms of the skin, and such) version, but I think that the board software is vBulletin, but that is a total guess....

yea, i meant the stuff to display the forum.

Was wondering, like being able to post without refreshing. Thats the main thing. Kinda want to play with forum software now. just hope its easier than the CMS joomla i was playing with.

With regards to your Idea for a chatroom on the forums this was tried on our sister site Vista Forums.

Unfortunately this was found to be totally ignored by the members, so as far as I am aware there are no plans to include one here.

I can confirm JohnG's statement that the forums are run on a Highly modified vBulletin, and with most things in life the ease of use you see is made possible only by the hard work of Z3r010, Brink, Dmex, and the rest of the team. As with mos programming you have to work very hard to make something look easy.
