Solved Idle computer crashes to BSOD, also happens randomly while surfing web

I'm at a loss to what's happening, I keep getting BSOD while doing various activities. All BSOD seeem to be associated with this exe, ntosknl.exe. I have already done a complete install win7 pro X'3 on different hard drives same error, I have run memtest86 on my memory, I have used a dianostic program from Western Digital to check my hard drives. I had several dump files but for some reason the where deleted.

Nost that were listed had to do with IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. Could really use help. Attached is the file from windows seven forum diagnosstics tool, hope it helps

Sorry KoolKat I had forotten to add tha I had a failing video card too. which has completely given up the ghost. I can here windows boot but no video. in the process of getting a new video card, sorry

System Optimisers

Please remove the following software:

This software is a known cause of BSOD's. The windows 7 operating system does not require these registry cleaning software. They often tune-down rather than tune-up and can wreck the OS beyond repair. Microsoft have improved Windows 7 significantly and it is much better at organising and optimising itself than its predecessors. Check this, this and this thread for evidence.

If you feel the need to use a registry cleaning or optimisation software, most of us recommend the use of CCleaner - PC Optimization and Cleaning - Free Download but make sure you back up the registry before making letting ccleaner delete anything.

Your .dmp file is very silent. Have you had more BSOD-s after your first post?
What security software are you using?
How old is your computer?
Have you checked for dust/debris inside the case?

Make scans with the following:

• Anti-rootkit utility TDSSKiller

-ESET online scanner

Take memtest. Run for 8 passes and test each stick in a know good slot for an additional 6 passes.

The goal is to test all the RAM sticks and all the motherboard slots.

Check your motherboard manual to ensure the RAM sticks are in the recommended motherboard slots. Some motherboards have very specific slots required for the number of RAM sticks installed.

If you get errors, stop the test and continue with the next step.

1. Remove all but one stick of RAM from your computer (this will be RAM stick #1), and run Memtest86 again, for 7 passes.

*Be sure to note the RAM stick, use a piece of tape with a number, and note the motherboard slot.

If this stick passes the test then go to step #3.

2. If RAM stick #1 has errors, repeat the test with RAM stick #2 in the same motherboard slot.

*If RAM stick #2 passes, this indicates that RAM stick #1 may be bad. If you want to be absolutely sure, re-test RAM stick #1 in another known good slot.

*If RAM stick #2 has errors, this indicates another possible bad RAM stick, a possible motherboard slot failure or inadequate settings.

3. Test the next stick of RAM (stick #2) in the next motherboard slot.

*If this RAM stick has errors repeat step #2 using a known good stick if possible, or another stick.

*If this RAM stick has no errors and both sticks failed in slot#1, test RAM stick #1 in this slot.
​

4. If you find a stick that passes the test, test it in all the other motherboard slots.

If Part 2 testing shows errors, and all tests in Part 3 show errors, you will need to test the RAM sticks in another computer and/or test other RAM in your computer to identify the problem.

In this way, you can identify whether it is a bad stick of RAM, a bad motherboard, or incompatibility between the sticks.

Errors are sometimes found after 8 passes.

   Tip

Do this test overnight, before going to bed.

If RAM and Hard drive test comes back clean the next step would be driver verifier although you mention clean installing windows.

I have completed most of the solutions but not all, Advanced system care- Removed
SFC /scannow completed nothing found all is fine

There is a new bios bios for my Mb but was having difficulty attempting flash. I don't have a 1.44 floppy and Flash drive to boot into dos isn't recognized same with CD rom boot. Did find the my MB Manufacturer XFX has a utility in the ntune software to flash the bios just haven't done it yet.

Memtest86 on memory- done and cleared but during the testing found that I had incompatable memory installed I had 2 OCZ PC 6400 1 gb @ 4 4 4 @ 1.8v and 2 OZC PC 6400 5 4 4 @ 2.1 V. I took out the 1.8v and have been running no antivirus or utilities at this time with the exception of rung tests and have not had a BSOD. I'm waiting on an additional 4 gb of ram to show up before flashing the bios.

So, I'm relieved to see that you have a fairly decent PSU (it's not a great unit, but still). I'm also relieved that no overclocking has been done. I admit that I was worried about all of this due to the video card failure.

Absolutely. Two GTX 260s won't stress this PSU at all. All that would really be needed for that is a 650W power supply.

1. How did you determine that the video card died? What video card was it?

Twocables thanks just wanted to make sure
1 Video card was over heating and then the screen started flicking and after a coolong off the was no video after reboot. I took it out and reinserted in the slot still no video

2 No bSOD since removing. 1.8 Vmemory in fact replaced with cpmpatable memory at 2.1

3. no I did not flash bios based on the theroy if it ain't broke don't fix it. There is a bio update available
