Hi,

I am looking for an update for my IDT Audio Driver.
My version is 6.10.0.6241 dated 9/16/2009.
I tried to look for the update but can't seem to find a newer one.
Anyone can help me with this ?
Thank you.

you can find it here: Dell support

Thank you for your reply.
But the above version is the same as mine.
I am wondering whether the old driver played some parts in the audio loss problems that I am facing lately.
The sounds has come and gone in the last few days.
I haven't been able to find out the cause of this.
I have tried to connect my laptop to external speakers, but still no luck.
The volume indicator showed there's sounds whenever I play some music or movies but no sound is coming out.
Sometimes I can play music files even if there is some distortion but when I tried to play some movie files there is no sounds whatsoever.
That's why I'm looking for a newer driver.

That's the newest one Dell has available. On your original post, the release date is for 9/16/2009. The link was to a driver posted on Dec 1st,2009. Its the A01 revision of the driver you have installed. After taking a closer look, it probably won't solve your problem either.

I've worked on hundreds of Dell laptops. In windows 7 setups, I don't even bother with Dell audio drivers unless there's no sound whatsoever. Because they usually cause more problems than they solve

So, what do you suggest I do ?

You can try the update. If that doesn't fix the problem, uninstall the IDT driver and restart your computer. Windows will install a generic high definition audio device driver in its place. After your computer restarts you should have sound from your speakers and the analog output (headphone jack), although it probably wont work through HDMI. I'm currently using a Dell laptop with an IDT audio chip and it works just fine on the generic HD audio driver that was installed with windows 7.

Thank you.
I'll give it a try.
