IDT HD Codec

I have a year old Dell pc and upgraded to Windows7 32 bit a fortnight ago from Vista. As i coudnt get sound after installation, it told me that the 'IDT High Definition Audio Codex has a driver problem'. It was unable to resolve the problem itself.
Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling without success.
Can anyone shed any light on this problem please.

When i go into the Digital Audio HDMI Device Properties, this window then tells me that 'This device is working properly'!
When i try and update the driver for it, it says
Windows found driver software for your device but had problems installing it.
IDT HDMI
This device cannot start (Code10)

Windows 7 dosent like realtek or sigmatel, (now IDT) audi drivers. Go to device manager and elete any drivers in audio and let windows issnstall the High Def codec drivers they work perfectly and are the most recent drivers I could find anywhere.

Hi, Many thanks, Ive actually fixed it.
Here is one, as daft as it sounds.
There are two High Definition Audio Devices under Sounds & Game controllers in the Device Manager.
I only uninstalled the one with the Exlamation mark before and also only uninstalled the driver via Properties.
When i deleted the other one as well second time round (There is obviously a link for both devices) it re-booted and worked perfectly.
It might be as s imple as making sure all adio devices are removed /uninstalled and re-boot.
