IE 10 Freezes to Black Screens

Hi,

I am using IE 10 (needed to revert to 10 a few years ago... forgot the
reason), and a few weeks ago the open windows started freezing and
turning to solid black.

I can open new windows but usually have to restart the pc to get
everything working again.

Any ideas of what could be causing this or what to do about it?

I would like you to try turning off Graphics Acceleration in IE.

It's under Internet Options in the File Bar.

Simply uncheck it and it should be on its way. Report back and let us know how it goes.

Restart IE10 and the Computer too, if IE 10 restart evals to no avail.

After doing a little more research, try this out.

Run open IE10 via the Start, Type "Internet"-> Select the internet explorer (without add-ons)
Once it's up, press F12 to open the developer window on the bottom.
Once it's up and stable, shut it via the X in it's corner (the developer window, not IE).
Once the developer window is absolutely closed, shut the IE11 (or IE10).
Currently try and open IE10 ordinarily to check if it's operating.

Hi,
Support for ie10 has ended it will not be getting anymore security patches
It is advised to upgrade to ie11

Then if you run into issues simply use another browser like Firefox/ pale moon/....

Use software rendering instead of gpu rendering would want to be Checked not Unchecked.

Thanks again for responses.

Now that I think about it another issue occurred at the same time
with another program, Windows Live Mail.

For some reason it takes a long time when composing or replying
for the new mail to open. Not sure if it is related??
