IE 11 on Win 7 32-bit not updating: Error 9c48

Hi, I am getting an error 9c48 when trying to update to IE 11. I have attached the CBS log and ran SFC Scan 2 times. I will run one more after posting here and will respond in 1 hour if that made a difference. I hope I hit everything that was in the instructions. Thank you.

Computer Specs:
HP dc5750 SFF
2.00 gb RAM
80gb HDD
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+

I can't see any signs of having run the CheckSUR tool??

There are a large number of registry problems in the CBSPersist files which should by highlighted by CheckSUR - please run the tool, and post the resulting logs.

Thank you. I ran SFC scan as well as the CheckSUR tool. I have attached the sfcdetails file below as well as the CBS file. Here were the steps I followed.

Run CheckSUR tool.
Reboot
Try installing update. Didn't work - error 9c48.
Ran SFC scan. Rebooted.
Grabbed log files.

Did I miss something in there?

...which are EXACTLY the same problems as in your other thread.

Are you using some kind of Registry Cleaner or System Optimizer tool? or ANY form of system tweaker??

If so - which one??

Oh, ok. I have changed the boot image using Windows 7 Boot Updater as found at Coder for Life - Project - Windows 7 Boot Updater. We also use the free version of CCleaner as a registry cleaner and space cleaner, but it only runs when told to. We also do use FOG as our imaging server, which I know does do one tweak to the registry for the upload... but once done, it isn't done again. Those are the consistencies between the two machines. Also, both of these machines did have trouble when IE 11 was first installed. Pages wouldn't load correctly, it would often get unexpected errors, and many times wouldn't open when clicking on the application. One "fix" I was told about which had worked on a few other computers was to uninstall the IE 11 update and then let it reinstall or manually install. The one difference on these computers that I don't remember on the others (granted, I could have just missed it) is that once the uninstall was done, it went back to IE 8 and installed 9, 10, and then tried 11. That may have nothing to do with the error, just trying to provide as much info as I can.

Hello again. I know problems are based on a computer by computer basis, but thought I would try what we did in my other post. So I ran CHKDSK C: /R and then ran SFC Scan when that was done. However, after that, the update still fails and gives me the same 9c48 error. I have attached the CBS.log file as well as the WindowsUpdate.log file.

SFC fixed a lot of file problems - seemingly mostly to do with cursor files, or Aero files.

This indicates to me that you've probably been using some kind of system cleanup tool or registry cleaner - PLEASE DON'T.
If you have been using such a tool - which one?

Hi NoelDP,

The only registry cleaner I can find that we are using is CCleaner. However, I haven't run that program since the last re-image (maybe in the older image). I don't think it is a registry cleaner, but know it may affect those settings is a product called LanSchool which allows the teacher station to control all student stations. However, if that isn't it, CCleaner would be the only "cleaner" that we have on the computer.

CCleaner is usually safe - so long as you avoid the registry cleaner part on anything except default settings.
You can use the same procedure on this machine as on the one in your earlier thread - it'll work as well/badly as that did.
